LAC CONFLICT RESOLUTION COMMISSION

For the interpretation of the bylaws and regulations of the Lithuanian American Community, for resolving misunderstandings arising in community activities, election complaints, and other matters provided for in the bylaws and regulations, the Lithuanian American Community Conflict Resolution Commission operates.

Upon receiving a complaint, the Commission sends a copy to the other party, which must submit its written response, explanations, and a list of potential witnesses to the Chair of the Commission within 21 days. The Commission has the right to request from the parties and LAC institutions the resolutions, minutes, explanations, and other written data necessary as evidence. It may also hear statements from the parties and testimony from their witnesses.

The decisions of the Commission are adopted by a simple majority vote of its members. In making decisions, a member of the Commission is guided by the LAC bylaws and regulations, the customs of community life, their conscience, and the interests of Lithuanian identity. The Commission’s deliberations are not public, and their proceedings are not disclosed.

Within thirty (30) days from the adoption of the decision, a copy of the decision of the collegium shall be sent to the parties, the President of the Commission, and the President of the Presiding Panel of Officers of the LAC National Board of Directors.

The decisions of the LAC Conflict Resolution Commission are implemented by the Presiding Panel of Officers of the LAC National Board of Directors.
