National Executive Committee Organizational Affairs of the LAC
The role of the National Executive Committee’s Vice Chair for Organizational Affairs is primarily operational in nature. The overall scope of work includes the following responsibilities.
The Vice Chair maintains close communication with district chairs and, through them, with local chapters. When needed, they coordinate surveys to gather essential insights on organizational operations and structural matters.
Reviews and familiarizes themselves with all contact information stored in the LB Google Docs folder.
In coordination with the NEC President, the Vice Chair oversees the establishment of new local chapters and provides guidance to emerging groups on how to complete the process. A chapter may be formed in any community where at least ten Lithuanians are committed to sustaining Lithuanian cultural and community life.
At the inaugural meeting, the Vice Chair presents the handbook “What Is the Lithuanian American Community?” and explains what information is available on the website www.javlb.org. If a newly formed chapter wishes to open a bank account, it must contact the NEC Vice Chair for Finance, who will assist with the process.
Participates in National Executive Committee meetings and provides updates on ongoing work and upcoming plans.
During LAC National Board election years, the Vice Chair collaborates with the Central Election Commission and reminds its chair to distribute the handbook “What Does the LAC National Board Do?” to all candidates. This handbook introduces prospective Board members to their roles and responsibilities.
Implements the annual resolutions approved by the LAC National Board for the Organizational Affairs Committee. Collaborates with the Presidium of the National Board and with members of the National Executive Committee responsible for carrying out these resolutions. Ensures that all resolutions are executed and submitted to the Presidium in a timely manner.
Prepares an annual report of their activities, which is incorporated into the overall NEC annual report and presented to the full National Board.
The responsibilities assigned to the Vice Chair for Organizational Affairs ensure that the organization’s operational framework functions smoothly, responsibly, and transparently as it continues its mission of preserving Lithuanian identity in this welcoming country.
