The LAC Strategic Plan Commission ensures that our community’s long-term plans are clear, consistent, and successfully implemented. The Commission monitors the progress of the strategic plan and provides recommendations on the best ways to achieve the set goals.

The commission consists of nine members. Six of them are proposed by the National Executive Committee, after consulting with the Board of Directors’ Presiding Panel. The remaining three members are ex officio: the President of the National Executive Committee, the President of the Board’s Presiding Panel, and the President of the U.S. Lithuanian Youth Association. All of them have voting rights. Candidates are usually LAC members with experience in the Board of Directors, the National Executive Committee, or other community activities.

Terms are planned so that the work of the commission is continuous and stable. The initial commission has staggered terms: three members serve three years, and three serve six years. After that, every three years new members are added to the commission for six-year terms, replacing those who have completed their service. The president of the commission is first elected by the initial three-year term members, and subsequently by members who have served for three years.

If a commission member is unable to continue their duties, the National Executive Committee, after consulting with the Board of Directors’ Presiding Panel, proposes a new member to complete the term. The commission may also invite advisors – they assist with the work but do not have voting rights.

In short, the Strategic Plan Commission is our community’s vision for the future.It ensures that all plans are consistent, responsible, and successfully implemented, and that our community’s activities are orderly and purposeful.
