LISS PROGRAM REGISTRATION

The 2026 LISS program will run from May 31 to July 5, 2026.
Registration is open from October 1 to December 13, 2025.

DURING REGISTRATION, PARTICIPANTS MUST SUBMIT

Resume – CV.
A motivation letter in Lithuanian, answering the question: “Why do I want to participate in the LISS program?”
Two letters of recommendation (one from a teacher and one from a member of the Lithuanian community who knows you).
A certificate or official document from the university confirming the student’s enrollment/status.
Portrait photo (suitable for official documents).

Each student must spend at least six (6) hours per day at the internship site.

Students who fulfill the internship requirements will receive five (5) university credits from Vilnius University (vu.lt). Each student, coordinating the trip with their university in the U.S., must determine how their university will accept these credits and which forms need to be completed.

SELECTION PROCESS

Interviews with students who have submitted applications and meet the program criteria will be conducted online. Student selection is carried out by the LISS Committee and the program director.
Students accepted into the program pay a $750 participation fee. The participation fee is non-refundable once the contract is signed.
Students accepted into the program send completed medical certificates and signed contracts to the program director at the address indicated in the forms.
The internship site is coordinated individually with each student according to their field of study and interests.
Internship participants are provided with accommodation in Vilnius. Travel within Lithuania, accommodation during trips, meetings, and various cultural and educational events are covered by the organizers. Students are responsible for their own health insurance, meals, personal trips, other additional expenses, and travel tickets.
